The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit : He is God Himself , He is one of the three hypostases (persons) of God , He is not only an angel or just a power from God or … . But He is God and He is the Spirit of God , exactly as our Lord Jesus Christ in His divinity is God and at the same time He is the Son of God .
+ This creed , and having the right faith in the Holy Spirit our Lord and God , is very important in our life as Christians : 1) First because it saves us from the false christs and their followers who do not have any faith nor any creeds about the Holy Spirit . 2) And second because it is the Holy Spirit who teaches , leads and guides us and the whole church in every good thing , and without Him we are nothing and can not do anything .
+ The love of the Holy Spirit to us appears in His great deeds , for He always works for our good without receiving any honor or love from us , while He gives us everything . He works in all saints , and also works in the sinners to repent . He gives spiritual gifts , power and counsel . He speaks in us and through us . He gives life , for He is the Life-giver . He does every good deed in every place .
I hope that all churches and the peoples of God , always praise the Holy Spirit , for He , He alone together with the Father and the son , the only One True God , is worthy of all praise and all glory . Amen and Amen .
+ The Divinity of the Holy Spirit [That He is God] :
1] He is the One God , with the Father and the Son : "Mt. 28 : 19 Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" , see , our Lord Jesus mentions the three persons (hypostases) of God , but at the same time He says "name" in singular not "names" , so the three are one God .
2] He is God : "Acts 5 : 3, 4 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit … You have not lied to men but to God." notice , peter said the same phrase twice , in the first time he said "the Holy Spirit" , but in the second time he said "God" , so the Holy Spirit is God .
3] He knows everything : "John 14 : 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you" , "John 16 : 13 He will guide you into all truth ;… and He will tell you things to come" , "1 Cor. 2 : 10 the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God"
4] He is the creator : "Hob 33 : 4 The spirit of God has made me" , "Psalm 104 : 30 You send forth Your Spirit , they are created"
5] He gives life : "John 6 : 63 It is the Spirit who gives life" .
+ Being a person (hypostasis) of God :
1] He is the Spirit of the Lord , the Spirit of God , and He has all the attributes of God : Read for instance , "Mt. 3 : 16 / 12 : 28 / Rom . 8 : 9 / Lk. 4 : 18 / Acts 5 : 9 / …" , "Isaiah 11 : 2 And the spirit of the Lord will be resting on him, the spirit of wisdom and good sense, the spirit of wise guiding and strength , the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" . He is also the spirit of truth "John 16 : 13 / 15 : 26 / 14 : 17" .
2] He inspired and led , the prophets , the writers of the Bible and all ministers of God , and still does the same with us in all what we say and write : "2 Peter 1 : 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" , "Mt.10 : 20 it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you" , see also "John 14 : 26 / 16 13" .
3] He gives and distributes gifts as He wills : Read "1Cor. 12 : 4-11" .
4] He leads the church ministry and appoints ministers : "Acts 13 : 2 the Holy Spirit said , now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them" , "Acts 16 : 6 , 7 they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia , they tried to go into Bithynia , but the Spirit did not permit them" , "Acts 8 : 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip , go near and overtake this chariot" , read also "Acts 10 : 19 , 20 / 20 : 28" .
5] He comforts us "John 15 : 26" , helps us in our weeknesses and intercedes for us : "Rom 8 : 26 the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses , for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought , but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us" .
